I was a little bored so I built this little gem out of spare parts, its a phr diode, no driver, and I use 3 button cells, and a very small focusing module.
It lights matches and pops balloons. I am not sure of the mW's but its pretty damn strong, the batteries lasted for around 5-7 minutes of play time before I had to replace them.
The last 2 pics are my wall that I painted with Glow in the dark paint, I use my blu-ray lasers to write/draw all over it. SCHWEET!

This build is brilliant; I love it! I'm continually impressed by what you're cranking out.

+1

Where did you get the small module from? I've found one I am planning on using out of a flashlight/laser combo (had a ring of leds with a laser in the center, took it apart and found a tiny module inside) Anyways great build :D very nice

Hell with the laser :D --- Where did you get that paint ???
Your own UV Theater

Where did you get the small module from?

I recall someone building a direct driven red burner in this keychain

using a similar module. He gave a link to buy the module but I can't for the life of me find the thread. :undecided:

I spruced "Mini Marine" up a bit, I soldered a small capacitor to the diode leads to help with the voltage spikes. painted the brass focusing module black to match the host, also added a hex nut which allows me to focus the module.
