MINI laser kit-RGBr-from AixiZ

Re: white laser kit-RGBr-from AixiZ

there is definetly a short duty cycle to green pens

Maybe the 150mW pens that some of us are used to. These are (supposedly) 5mW. They don't generate much heat at all.

dichros-NOT phosphurs

How can you be sure? They picture phosphor disks. Some intern probably screwed up the terminology when writing the description.

Re: white laser kit-RGBr-from AixiZ

I'm betting this is more for teaching how light can combine to make other colors using lasers, mostly to make a white dot on a wall, not really a nice beam. Some people will probably attempt to make a white laser beam by gluing and fussing about with the alignment in an incredibly frustrating experience that may appear on Youtube.

In the end, this product seems like an expensive and lame "kit" being marketed to ignorant people for a cheap buck. If Aixiz are going to charge these excessive prices, they should provide a professional teaching kit, with experiment instructions, mounts, etc. Aixiz's kit is a rip-off, plain and simple.

I agree with you on the latter - its lame, and its priced too high for the stuff you actually get.

But what's worse is that it will probably deter people from attempting to combine beams. Without mounts, this kit will just show that it is very difficult if not impossible to combine beams properly using basic stuff. You need to be able to do adjustments to the 1 mrad level and keep them stable, something you cannot really accomplish by just holding the dichros and lasers in place, even if you have 8 arms ;)
