microwave oven parts projects (HV power supply and magnetron)

They was suggested, but not absolutely obligatory, in these years, if you was not working in a power substation or similar (assuming that you are talking about devices or locks that make phisically impossible to turn the main switch on).

Now, there is the indication to lock the switch in off position, where is possible, but almost 30 years ago, the laws about safety was different, and really more "lack" (bad laws) ..... anyway, i was still an apprentice, those years, and this is one of the things that teached me to always exagerate with cautions.

I think the magnetron will only be used for a conversion piece only. I can't see any way it can be used outside an actual, working microwave.

I don't think it has to rely on resonance, does it?

Microwaves don't cause cancer any more than the heat from a fire causes cancer because it's non-ionizing radiation. If it's a joke, the joke is pretty old.

By the microwaves (internal generated heat

But microwaves don't heat from the inside out.

But microwaves don't heat from the inside out.

Then again, 100Kw vs human body = no difference between inside and out. The brain and other internals took the most damage since they contain the most amount of water relative to the other parts...

Rewind that transformer with a huge secondary (Like 2000 turns) and a center-tapped 10-turn primary coil.
Drive it with a ZVS, and get some 6" burning arcs from it!

Rectify it, and you could start a high power tesla coil project that would run at extra high frequencies!

You can't drive a forward transformer like a MOT with a ZVS. Can you?

Necro'ed this thread as I want to build a HV supply to demonstrate franklin bell experiment, but a MOT at 2kV does not cut it...

Anyone managed to get >15kV out of MOTs?
I would try multipliers, but the beefy current means expensive high power rating parts are needed
