Micro-sized custom IR build at 1050mA

Yes i may try that too but i am wondering how the aixiz module collimate the 9mm diode ...

What do you mean? Should be able to collimate fine, assuming you have the right lens. 808nm is still easily collimated by acrylic and glass; it's right near the visible spectrum.

I am not well informed about these diodes and i heard that 808nm is hard to collimate but worth try if you said everything should be fine :D

Well the beam specs on 808nm diodes aren't very good, so in general your beam/dot will be worse (think of 445nm diodes - they produce bars and lines, but this produces rectangles), but it shouldn't be any harder to collimate. Then again, I could be completely wrong.

You guys are all right- the laser is soldered to the drilled out Aixiz Module (using low-temp solder), and the laser focuses fine with a regular Aixiz lens. I use an AR coated plastic one for better efficiency, but it really doesn't matter. And to answer your question Rafa, the battery life is very short (think tens of minutes), but that's what chargers are for anyway :)

Using a plastic lens for 1050mA? Wouldn't it melt the plastic?! :O

And regarding the soldering... is it sturdy? Because I thought that soldering to chrome plating was hard?

Very sturdy. The Aixiz module is chrome plated brass, so I just sanded off the chrome to have something to solder to ;)

Hmm. Well then! Now I just need to find a diode and make some money and I will be getting one of these diodes (depending the price, may be before or after I get my 12x blu-ray).
