Medical Condition Update Thread For LPF Members

I am on 10mg/325 hydrocodone.. and you can get a buzz from it.. The doctor said if I have to go up any more then its to strait hydrocodone 5s pain killers are great if you need them the thing of it is that you can get addicted to easy. I have been on strait morphine and others.. I had appendicitis a few years ago and they had me on delotid and it was a good one but you have to have major pain in order to get it. Some times I think weed is a better pain management system that opioids

Weed is legal now from what I've seen in the news. Not sure if that's the route you want to go or try though.

I've been on once that I can remember. It was actually a couple months ago. I had that along with a z-pak. Hydrocodone is not something I'd want to take again.

Only in Colorado. There is a bill that has been sitting in the house that would decriminalize it on the
federal level, but no action has been taken. In certain states it is legal for medical use, but not for
recreational.

Colorado is not the only state with recreational marijuana! Washington Sate the state i live in also passed recreational marijuana law the same year Colorado did

I hate opioids. I was on morphine for my knee after surgery and the withdrawals were worse than the pain. Intense nausea 24/7 for weeks. While on it the decreased intestinal motility was a nightmare too.

When I dislocated the metatarsals in my feet the pain was worse than my knee but I just dealt with it without painkillers. I'd rather be in agony than on opioids.

Legalization of non-hallucinogenic weed strains is something I think we desperately need. I don't care about normal weed but the purely medicinal variants need to be available.

I guess New York is going to try and pass medical haja, as long as you don't smoke it. That
is sad to hear of the bad reaction you had with the morphine. I had a similar withdrawal from
ativan. I had the most incredible anxiety for 6 months. It was like my nervous system was
on fire. Some people can stop cold turkey with no withdrawal.

I can't take cordicos either. Prednisone and cortisone give me anxiety (why I had to start
ativan in the first place). Methylprednisolone and decadron make me psychotic (the latter of
which caused the complete 2 week blackout). It does get better eventually, even though it
seems like it never will. Now the little voices all tell me they love me and want me to build
lasers (j/k). (Really, though I have never had voices in my head.)

Sorry to hear about your condition. I have chronic migraine that affects me in weird ways. They can't figure it out for me either. Sometimes I can't walk right. I can't talk right.

The worst part is not knowing what's going on or why. And that the doctors don't know how to make the pain stop or fix the other symptoms.

Pm me if you'd like.

I have Addison's Disease, so corticosteroids (cortisol in particular, about 1/4 the potency of prednisone) literally keeps me alive. I can drop dead if I go more than eight hours without a dose. I dose every 4 hours on the dot, normally. *while sleeping the body's reduced metabolism grants me the gift of not having to wake up to take a pill, but I wake up needing one badly.

My wife is in similar situations, I think she wants a diagnosis more than a cure, honestly.

Found out today that i have to go see the specialist for my pain in my leg and arm will see what happens there. as for the other stuff that is going on and had have for a while i deal with rls, asthma, allergies, arthritis in most of my upper body, carpal tunnel, and some minor other things but im in pain most days and just have to accept it

My doctor's office called yesterday to inform me that I had appointment with a orthopedic specialist on the 29 to find a way to limit my pain. They are also going to gauge my pain levels.. so now I have a appint with them, the neurologist, a emc, and my pulmonalisgist in the next four weeks fun right (NOT)!

You can try risperdal or as a last resort IV ketamine. Ropivacaine can work too if you dose it via catheter. I used to be on 400mg of gaba but it had really bad effects on me and hydro, oxy and solid morphine didn't do jack. But ropivacaine or bupivacaine can work if put in directly to the nerves via catheter. IV ketamine was a last resort and f*cked me up for a week which was as long as I had it for although it can work as I have seen but I don't recommend it.

Update:

Next week have two doctors appoints! One is with a Orthopedic doc to try and manage my pain levels better. The other is with my pulmo doc in wenatchee on wends that not going to be fun! The good news is my leg seems to be working better not quite all the way back to normal but better. I still am having the leg twitches a couple times a week and the head aches have not gone away yet. My left arm still is the same I hope i get some of it back but who knows! I have a total of 6 doctor appointments in august and I hope to find some work soon I have some repairs i need to make on our van and just do not have the money. One of the sliders is stuck dont know why, and there is some thing wrong with the ac it makes a whine when you turn it on. while not critical for the operation of the van it makes me worry that there is something going on with the motor and the door just makes it a pain. any way that is my update. Talk to you all soon

Thank you for the update my friend. I have you as always in my prayers!

I appreciate it I was trying to get this sticked for all members to post updates on any medical condition but it does not look like its going to happen

Update:

Went to the orthopedic doc today took 15 xrays of my shoulder, elbow, and knee and he does not think that my bones and muscles are causing any of the pain that I have been feeling since may. so one doc down one more tomorrow I will find out the results of my sleep study I did earlier this month. I go see the neurologist on the 14th so hopefully we can figure this issue out im tired of sitting at home.. ty guys I think we need to sticky this thread so any one that has issues can post them here

Saw my pulmanologist today and I have to do another sleep study this time with a bipap machine. Apparently I do stop breathing when i sleep. this could be a side effect of my thing I had back in may. Not looking forward to sleeping with more stuff on me. that is next tuesday.
