Made The Transition From Lurker To Member :)

My name is Evan. 33yrs old living in the Bay Area of California.
Been lurking for a couple months and have seen what a great community and wealth of knowledge this forum has.
I work as a Production Planner in a CNC Machine shop that mainly manufactures components for silicon wafer fabrication.
I'm a licensed skydiver and jump as much as my schedule allows.
A friend of mine was rambling on and on about lasers one day and I've found myself going down the rabbit hole that is lasers ever since.
I've got myself a pair of Eagle Pair 190-540nm & 800-1700nm OD5 safety goggles and plan on taking it from there.
Other than that I'm an electronics enthusiast, android and Linux fanboy, I love music and all things science.
I look forward to learning lots from this forum and hope to be able to contribute some knowledge down the road!

Welcome! looks like you've got the right glasses for a anything from green and purple, but no lasers? thats a first here, i believe, but its great. safety is very important when it comes to working with lasers.

In all seriousness though I figured if I didn't buy glasses first and show that I was serious, other users may not take me as serious when I go to purchase items from them.

Almost everyone lurks for a while before joining, it's good to read up and get a feel for it all first. I think I might have the record for being the longest lurker before joining. I lurked for something like 10 months before joining on 12-12-2012.

I actually think around the 3-year mark I lost touch with it, then about a year after that I came across it again. I didn't really see a need for signing up most of the time, plus I was probably too young. Heck, I still am in some people's eyes And yeah, this is my first account haha
