Macro lenses for Canon EOS Rebel T1I

Here is a Downey using the same 1000mm mirror lens, the image quality is not the best using this lens but it sure does get you close to the subject.

BTW, this image and the Cardinal image is a Jpeg straight out of my camera with no PP or cropping. It's a very difficult lens to use with a very narrow DOF but it sure does tests your skills.
I shot the distance with my laser range finder and both images were taken at 50 ft, not bad for straight out of the camera, but than again, not the best either.

I know almost all of the names of those birds (but in french). I have a very wide variety of species visiting my bird feeder, including almost of the wood peckers we have in Quebec and blue jays, I even rescued an owl hatchling the was pushed out of it's nest by crows.

The 250mm lens is a telephoto zoom with variable aperture. I can get good close-ups because the bird feeder is very close to my kitchen window.

That first image of the female Cardinal you posted was outstanding, I would be very proud to capture that image!

Thanks!

I sent the pic to a monthly photo contest, held by one of Canada's largest camera shop (L.L.Lozeau). The prize is a 3 hour photography course.

I got a lucky shot on that one because I was trying to shoot another bird when the cardinal arrived and took it's place. It was really close to the window.

(sorry for my english, I'm a french Canadian ;))

I can't speak a word of French so you are leaps and bounds ahead of me (just for the record your English is just fine)!
I always wanted to be bilingual but was to lazy to persue it. :shhh:

My least favorite course in high school was english, and it just happened to be the course I recieved my lowest grades in.......i'm a numbers guy!

Nice pictures!

The macro on my little powershot A640 is quite good considering it's a point and shoot camera :)

This is a picture of fog particles being lit by a laser :D
