Survival Laser's SS host w/extended Cu HS.
16.8mm battery board.
DTR 2W M462/X-Drive w 3 element lens
2 18650 Batteries

This thing is awesome!! This blue is BLUE. Really nice color. You could say it's like 445nm but without violet overtones. iPhone camera doesn't portray their distinction. But, my 445 seems purple now.

In a pic below I tried to side-by-side my Sanwu Challenger 445. Again, iPhone camera makes it indistinguishable. You're just gonna have to effin trust me 😉

Hi,
Done well great choice of diode, SL hosts are awesome and in SS Steel. Great pics also for the beam shots ..

Slick looking build, Shotgun, those SL stainless hosts are sweet, and I'm a sucker for SS hosts!
That M462 is a perfect choice for this build, too bad your camera didn't pick up on the differences between the two wavelengths.
:gj: that is one nice "Blue Job"! :D

That's what Dr. Manhattan said :D Yeah, the Oclaro 638 was in the truncated version of this host. Once it died, I ordered the diode w/ driver and battery extension. It needs a nice focus nozzle and a nice danger tag ;)

Thx for the comments guys!!

Josh

Nice build! Always like the Survival SS Hosts, think they add a certain something special to the build. Enjoy that 462. You can see the difference in the color of the beams. :gj: and well done.

Nice build, Josh. That is a small host for 1.8 amps current, if that is what you used. Then again, I might be overly protective of my diodes. Yeah, there is quite a difference between the 445nm and this diode. My camera does okay in differentiating the colors.

very nice builds and beamshots, shame that your camera makes them both look purple on the comparison picture.keep up the good work and be safe

Nice Job Shotgundrums ,

Nichia 462nm 9mm real intense blue .....

Because do you have choose 3 element glass lent ? Is better G-2 lens ? increase the power of your laserpointer up on the 30%

Yeah, it's no tire checker that's for sure. But, the heatsink is a nice size chunk of copper. It gets noticeably warmer around 20 sec mark and that's when I shut'er down. Thermal silicone between the mod/sink seems to be working :D

3D, this isn't the 9mm version. Although, I've read there's a slight difference in wavelength between this and 5.6mm. But, I chose the 3 as temporary lens until my G7 lens comes in. Visually, yeah there's a slightly noticeable power loss, but the beam profile is spectacular. I'll get some of that power back once the other lens comes in.

That's very nice SGD! That's exactly how I felt when I got my Jetlaser Equality 462. I don't even wanna use my 445s anymore lol. I've also noticed that 462nm doesn't hurt my eye as much as 445 does, I'm assuming that's because 462 is further from 405 than 445, and Near UV messes with your eyes like crazy.

Nice clean looking build, and I can see the solid blue.

This pic shows well.
