LPF's members occupations/job? What do u do??

Soooo I was just wondering what are the different jobs/careers/occupations all of LPF's members have, pics of their work place (If its TOTALLY awesome of course!) and if any of you guys are in your dream career and if not what would that be?...

I mean this is a hobby, and a very expensive one in that case. We all have lives and most likely a family to attend to.

My personal occupation is currently a restaurant waiter and I'm only 20 human years fresh. lol

I tried college and it didn't turn out too good for me. Major was biology and My dream career would of been a ZooKeeper. I volunteered for over a year in a internship with ZooMiami, but for financial reasons I had to leave and find a job :cryyy: These are two "Greater One-Horned Rhino's" Females mother and daughter. Mom weighed a little over 2 tons, baby weighed about 700Ibs I think I recall... Very gentle and humble. Became almost nimb when scratching the inner part of the back thighs..

Thats how I ended up in the waiting business... and I LOVE IT!!! lol I only work 2-3 days, but that's equal to a 2-week salary at any other basic job. Not to mention nice ocean view, the pic doesn't give the view justice! lol Now I can slowly afford this hobby!! :wave::wave::wave:

So what do you guys do?... What would you like to do?... Pics would be a great illustrative tool!

Retail at an electronics store. Not the best job, but I do get to play with some pretty cool shit, get it cheap and sometimes free, so it's not all bad. You just have to deal with the type of people that think a magical device exists where you can put in a B&W video and it'll spit it out in colour. And yes, that was a serious request

Currently work as a mig welder part time , On last year of collage doing electrical engineering as id like to get into industrial electricians field

Just got a job offer so my first job is as a Staff Accountant but my dream job would be owning my own Motocross Team or shop

Thats pretty neat ionlaser555. I used to work in a Cadillac body shop and I learned a thing or two from watching the way others would weld body metal back to the cars, or even remove parts. Pretty bad a$$ in fact.

Word of mouth can take you far actually. My pops was a handyman and got far with word of mouth. Craigslist listing might help to expand as well. I only work two days a week. (weekends) and I love having "free" time. lol

Yes Im pretty aware of that because I have a friend that does something similar. Hes pretty darn good at it too. Its a neat system refrigerators use dmacrea.

Dude thats awesome Livinloud! Congrats on your employment. Not being prejudice but your profile pic kind of gave me the idea you were into bikes. haha. Its not that much of a fantasy to own a shop... Good planning, well administration of money, and BAM! you got it.

Well if you want to own a well respected race shop it takes a ton of work. Need to get mechanics with factory experience, need to get a manufacture to back you (Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, etc.....) then need to stock high quality parts at ridic low prices so the online stores dont steal your business. then you need to sponsor racers that are good and will place well to get your company recognized and respected. Its a TON of work and even more $$$$$. A stock CRF450 runs you $8500 and thats STOCK! A well tuned and modded bike will run you $50,000-75,000 easy. the factory bikes are appraised at something like $125,000-750,000!!!!!! My bike in the photo has over $15,000-20,000 in it and its still got tons of room for improvement. Motor alone has $5,000 of work into it Motocross is expensive and your average joe doesnt know that.

A full exhaust for a CRF450 will run you $1,500.

KTM offers a service where you send your motor to their factory plant in Austria and for iirc $10,000 they will make your motor as close to "factory" as possible. The parts alone cost $5,099.99 and then you pay for them to build your motor, test it and send it back to you. BTW you know how much it is to send a 100lb motor to Austria and back!?!? Too much!!!!!!!!

I would love to have my own race shop and team but its not realistic without huge financial backing

OOOOhhhhhhhhh.... I see... I thought it was more similar to like a auto shop where custom bulds and mods can be done. There ive seen a lot of sponsorships but between other shops... Say for example the shop down the road makes custom exhausts, and your client wants both an exhaust and a manifold improvement design... Well you wouldn't say thats not your specialty but you'd contact the shop down the road and ask them to do the work for you. And it would work visa verse. On occasion you just sort of promote each other... Ive seen that with alot of auto shops.. From brake specialization to throttle body improvements.

But dang, I see what you mean now when you say dream... Its the type of thing lots of money is required just to get started... Like you said, no rep then there's no point. Thanks for the insight on that... Really was off by a few K in respect to the prices...

Yeah, MX is no joke in the cash department I dont bring my bike to the shop anyways......i know a mechanic who works for a dealer and i bring my bike to his house and get the work done WAY cheaper, well anything that i cant fix goes to him lol

Yeah I see that :scared: haha! but at least you have a good hook up! IMO I loved working on my own metal. It some how made me feel more pride and in some crazy way made a bond. lol Ofcourse anything out my reach and it was straight to the shop. But I had to pitch in throughout the process. My uncle owns a regular shop. But from time to time he will challenge himself with mods. Nothing awe inspiring but enough to have fun.

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a jet pilot. My vision was too poor to achieve that in the military. LASIK and a pilots license has shown me that could be a reality, but much like my shying away from professional photography (another hobby) for fear the job would steal my passion for it, I decided to let the things I love stay for fun and not become a grind. I was a nuke in the Navy... got out and switched to IT where I ended up doing network engineering (you know, alphabet soup behind your name). These days, it's all about network marketing. I love it. One thing is for sure, when you wake up in life and realize you aren't really enjoying what you do for a living, it's important to have the courage to change. Life is too short to waste being miserable for a few bucks.

That's pretty neat too! But I see what you mean when saying that if you do something you don't like it ends up consuming you. I mean luckily I ended up in a field I feel pretty pleased with. I have high people skills and when I use them my wallet gets fed more Good to hear you discovered something both you enjoy and provide for everyday life.
