I'm searching for a good green laser sold in the USA. Which, for what I want, cant be done unless the seller is in the USA (which a lot are) Here's what I'm asking for.

I want to buy another laser, I already have a 5mw green laser, very faded, yet the beam is seen at night up to 200ft with no fog. I wanted to upgrade, (not looking to burn things) but I want one that can be seen better (beam). I wanted one where the beam is a lot more visible at night, and so I can rig up mirrors in a black dark room and see the beam bounce all over. What is the best power to get? 35? 45? 50? to be able to do what I want, but not just saying "get a 100mw, it can be seen for miles and very bright" I don't want one that's WAY over the edge. I just one that is brighter than my 5mw.

Also, Wheres a good dealer in USA to get the power you recommended to me? I know buying a module and diode already assemble can easily be bought around the USA like the seller at HighTechDealz. But what about greens?

I purchased a X-50 from Nova from (Canada) for the same use and it is more powerful than I needed. Their spec sheet from the order said it peaked at 72mW and averaged 66mW. You don't need one that powerful I'd say. The X-50 beam is about as bright as the Alpha 105 I purchased at the same time when using it to point out stars. I too would like to know a good dealer for nice lower power IIIb greens within the US. It's nice not to wonder if it''s going to arrive or not.

Exactly how much brighter is the beam of a 35mw laser comparing to a 5mw laser?

about this much left is about 130mW right is about 30mW so 5mW to 35 should be about the same in brightness every 4x the power 2x the brightness i think

If it's a dealer within the US, they have to abide by the same FDA regulations as importers do. ALL IIIb lasers that are imported into the US or manufactured for the purpose of sale must adhere to FDA regulations, which means the inclusion of the 5 safety features (unless specifically waived by the FDA, which they won't do without reason) and that the product must be registered/approved by the FDA before sale or import through obtaining an accession number.

There are many dealers in the US from whom you can buy IIIb lasers completely legally, but they'll have the safety features, won't be pointer-sized, and will probably cost a bit more. But they can easily be had.

The 35mW is actually quite bright when compared to the 5mW. This is true especially during the night or in dark conditions. The 35mW's beam is clearly visible when you shine it into the night sky whereas the 5mW can only be considered faintly visible. During the day, the 35mW has a brighter "spot" and can be seen at slightly farther distances when compared to the 5mW.

In order for a laser pointer to be legal in the US, it will need to have several safety features such as a key lock. Before making your purchase, be sure to look for an IR filter. Most lasers sold on Ebay do not have IR filters. Hope this helps!

NOVA Lasers is probably your best bet, they're located in Canada, but the do guarantee that your laser will arrive to you.

For what your saying, the X-25 is probably best for you, but for $20 more you could get the X-50, which would be more than enough (And be capable of popping balloons/ lighting black tipped matches, if you ever so desire)
If you do decide to go with NOVA, be sure to use the 5% discount code "warp5" at checkout.

If you want it to have good beam visability, but not quite enough to burn, I would say 30mW. The X series isn't quite legal; even if you buy the safety key it doesn't have all the features. You also need a shutter, indicator light and 2-second delay. Normally, I would recommend Alpha, but that's 65mW+. So I'd have to say the Aries 25.

They are cheaper than nova and have full fda approval? They also carry the reds from cni, I would love to see a review of one of those.
I would especialy like to have the red 100mW one as a perfect match for the x100 that I will be getting soon. I am waiting for 25 days now!!!

Artix you interest me.  But why is the 55 only 9 dollars more?  Anyways yeah,  I wanted a laser with a beam that was a lot more visible than my 5mw.  Like someone said before, the beam is faded in the night sky.  And in a house, I can only see it looking towards the laser, and see it reflecting off the dust particles.

I decided i'd prob. buy off sky lasers. The lasers are 100% legal and FDA approved, they have a indicator, the 2 second delay, IR filter, and a Key-Lock. But I need advice.

First off, You may remember i wanted that 150mw blue-ray lasers. Well, My parents suck and said I cant buy it with my own money, They are just lucky I don't have paypal.

So, Here's the deal. Prob going to ask this for Christmas, and I need some advice. My brother will do his usual $50 gift.

55mw laser, $109, Id pay only $59 for this laser. Looking for beam brightness. Good / bad for a 50?

75mw laser, $150, id pay only $100.

What might be best. Not fully looking to burn things, I just want a clear night beam, Possible visible in a shaded day-time in the house, But not needed. Price inst the problem. What do you recommend?

You're forgetting the fifth feature, the safety shutter. You need a shutter. Also, I don't think you need an IR filter, it's just recommended.

EDIT: My quote broke!!! NOOOOO!

Actually, I'm not.  Site states:

Q1: Are your lasers legal?
A: Yes, all Skylasers products are 100% legal to own and use within the United States. Our lasers are fully compliant with FDA safety standards and incorporate a 5-point safety system which includes an aperture shutter, key switch, indicator LED, interlock, and output delay. We have obtained FDA accession numbers for all of our products to be shipped into the United States.

But can you help me? Is there even a beam brightness difference comparing 55mw to 75mw? I know the 75 can burn, as the 55 needs a lens to magnify it. But what about the beam brightness?

I don't think it would make too much of a difference, and with the left over money, buy some safety glasses! (Also, the names of the different lasers made me lol; visable beam series; impressive series; high power series; ect)

Yeah, They claim the 55 can only burn with a magnify glass, as the 75 can burn without one.  But if the beams the same,  I'm not sure what to do.. I guess it depends if I want burning :S

I'm confused.  Why is it that 75mw on skylasers (to their chart) say you cant burn much besides a balloon at the most.  As Nova lasers, Say you can do a LOT more with a 75?  Do nova lasers have a 5-point FDA approval?

I didn't even think a 15mw nova alpha could be that bright :S

Some companies' lasers average lower or higher then what is stated, NOVA's lasers usually average much higher. NOVA's X series don't have the FDA's approval, but the other two do. NOVA will send you another laser if it gets confiscated.
