I'm looking for a laser pointer that has a cable and a pressure pad for training purposes. Does not have to be high power but enough to be visible in the sun light at distances out to 20 meters. Preferably inexpensive. Thank you.
You can get an aftermarket pressure-activated tailcap for a lot of different flashlight bodies and mod it to what you need. Or, you can get complete laser systems, for weapons use, that already have the p-a switch included.
Pressure Pad Switch
The best I can come up with. If you chsose this route, you can get a host assembly from this site too, and maybe a low powered diode from DTR, like a 50mW 520nm diode. Might not end up cheap, tho.
Do you need the beam or the dot to be visible in direct sun light?
If it is the beam, that is going to have to be a high powered laser unless you have particulate in the air such as fog or smoke.
"Preferably inexpensive" is objective, that could range from $60 to $500 dependent on the person. What is your budget?
I'd say just build one. A pressure switch is essentially just a momentary switch inside some shrink tubing.
You probably won't find a pressure switch that has 6-8 foot of wire so your only option is to make one yourself, or buy a pressure switch and add some more wire to it.
