That wasn't maintenance, they were PHP errors. He wrote an incorrect foreach() loop. Probably wanted to make a quick fix so he didn't take the site down for maintenance, and promptly wrote an error into the code. This caused the PHP parser not to be able to read it, causing the first three errors on the list. As for the last two, it appears he misconfigured one part of his CMS...

Was reading a little bit about 'Smarty' and found this on its website (on the "Why use Smarty?" page).

Smarty Website said:
