LiIon Cell Sizing 'chart/guide'

aaah crap. well anyone know a battery which is a like 22mm and about the same diameter as 16340. im looking for a pair myself.
also, you can always use 2x 10440 batterys and a dummy aaa.
 





..or you could 'rewire' the battery holder and bypass one of the battery slots.
I'm sure there's a thread here where someone's done that.
 
You can't. But at least they are offered with protection circuits now. Nobody really knows what the protection circuit does for that particular cell, but it is assumed that it protects a cell with characteristics of a 10440.

Also, with small cells, there is more likely to be a voltage mismatch, which increases as both cells discharge.

Maybe you just need a different driver so that you only need to use one cell.

couldnt you use a few button cells taped together and with like some spacer that bridges the gap between the terminals
 
yeah but it takes ages for shipping. if there was a website that sold chinese 10440 batteries and they were located in the uk i wouldnt be looking for a different battery
 
bit expensive. but if thats the only alternative, then so be it. and when you mean rewire the battery holder couldnt you just solder a wire from + to - in the empty gap
 
Yeah, we do have to pay a lot for 'the good' batteries over here (like every damn thing else).

You can get them cheaper abroad but by the time you add on shipping costs and the time waiting for them to arrive, whats the point!

completely agree, and i just tried putting a thin metal rod instead of a extra aaa and it works. so you dont need to buy a dummy battery, you can just solder a wire to bridge the gap, even people who arent good at soldering (like me) can do that. also, in the beginning of this thread in the pictures, theres about 2-3 other batteries that look a lot smaller in height than a 16340

btw, it was cr123's I was thinking of when i thought cr2's were the same size as 16340's. All these numbers confuses me sometimes...lol
 
yeah, all these battery names are very very confusing. iv decided to buy 2 1/2AA which look considerably shorter than a 16340 in the photo at the begining of this thread, and if that doesnt work, then ill buy the 10440 batteries. 2 1/2AA will only cost me about £5 inclu. postage and there from inside the uk so im happy.

The shorter batteries are 10180s 10280s.... Which really dont have that much capacity. Theres also the 14250s that are about 2/3 the lenght of the 16340s

I thought you were after something AAA sized,,,not AA.

AAA are about 44 - 45mm tall

2 x 14250 will be 50mm tall. That would be like using a 25500 (sizewise) and if you read earlier on in the thread that would involve removing the battery holder altogether.
