Hello Laser Friends,

Not sure where this is best placed on this forum, but I am saddened to let everyone know that Hakzaw, who many of you knew on LPF, as well as PhotonLexicon in past years, has passed away. I believe it was yesterday, as Hak had been in an accident, was recovering, but apparently his health worsened over the course of several days. Len was 77. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

I first met Hak at a SELEM event 15 years ago, as Hak loved lasers, light shows, BBQ and was a great cook as well! He helped coordinate TEXLEM in 2012 with Tim Walsh and myself. There’s so many stories, laughs and good memories that I’ll have from his friendship. Len was a good guy, generous and a real character for those that knew him. I know he will be missed.

Greg

Hak was a champion of anything laser both here on LPF and on PhotonLexicon.
While not very active in recent times here on LPF he made a large/huge contribution to LPF over many years, over 10,000 posts and more than 10 successful Group Buys each one getting 10 or more lasers out to LPF members handling it all by himself perfectly + his dedication to SELEM and and the projector crowd + all of his other comments and interests pushed the laser hobby forward.
He almost died of congestive heart failure several years ago but kept in good spirits and did not give up despite several unfortunate turns of events and he maintained his laser and related interests at the same time.
Sorry to hear of his recent accident and that his physical reserves were not strong enough to overcome it all, unfortunately

Sad news to hear that he is gone.

I join the other members in expressing all my pain in having learned from this post of the passing of dear friend Len with whom we shared everything here on lpf I still can't believe it I'm crying but unfortunately it went like this
May the earth be gentle on you my friend and may you rest in peace

Len lives in our hearts and will live forever

Hak (at least to me) was Mr. Jetlasers. He had so many Group Buys for them and saved many LPF members a good amount of cash.
He also was big on laser projectors. The Group Buy he did for the LK-1 projector was IMO the best. I am actually using the LK-1 now in my photography, 10 years later and it still works perfectly . He would only do Group Buys for quality products. RIP Hak
