Thanks for the heads up. I ordered two boost also, hopefully those will come(the order hasn't been cancelled.)
They are great drivers and easy to use. Hopefully he gets some more in soon.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but i believe he is out of the microboosts as well. I ordered 6 a couple weeks ago and my order for them got cancelled as well as my order for 6 flexdrives.

You may get them since you only ordered 2... or he may have made more since then but don't get your hopes up to high

He doesn't "make" them. He designs them. He has them made for him. Demand has outstripped his estimated need for them :(

Peace,
dave

MMM well I hope I do get the Microboosts. He didn't refund my order for those, perhaps they will come this week. Really do hope they come, I have 2 of the 12x sleds coming from the GB coming:beer:

Did you pay via Google Checkout? He usually charges your account when he ships.

Peace,

Yeah both were through Google, both were charged at the order and then the flex order was canceled and refunded.
I'm still hoping that the boost's show up, well see.

Were they "charged" or were the charges "authorized"?

When you order something through Google Checkout, Google gets an "authorization" for the charge from your credit card. The vendor still has to "charge" your card. Usually, drlava does not "charge" your card until he is ready to ship.

He can cancel a transaction without ever having charged your card

I've talked to drlava. He is sold out of BOTH the MicroFlex and the MicroBoost drivers. He had a buyer (through eBay) clean him out.

He has been going back through and canceling orders that were not already filled.

It looks like some laser maker has decided to use his drivers. That is good for him, but bad for us.

He has ordered more to be manufactured.

However, get ready to pull up your patient pants. It will be about a month before they will be done.

Hold on to what you have, be patient, find an alternative, or be ready to pay a premium for them for a few weeks.

I have to go place a limit on my Kryton kits (http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/fs-kryton-groove-1w-445nm-kits-155-a-60107.html) now :(

Peace,
dave

Cool. I had no idea how long the whole process to restock them would take. It is nice to have a rough estimate. Thanks for talking with him

Yeah. He usually orders far enough in advance (when his stock reaches a certain level) so that the next batch arrives as the old batch runs out. He usually estimates fairly well on this. Unfortunately, the "big buyer" on eBay screwed up that estimate.

Peace,
dave

Hello all,

Has anyone heard any information as to when these great drivers will once again be available for purchase? There is someone on Ebay named bogartman (I wonder if he thinks the name is funny) that has marked them up by ~66%, I'll grant you that he is shipping them free at that price, but buying up all the stock and then inflating the price is aggravating even if I grudgingly understand the capitalist angle of it.

Again the sooner we can get the supplies back on this great driver, the better, is there any way I can help?

March 4th Dave (daguin) posted that he talked to Andrew and that they should be available again in about a month

I really cannot wait for these to get back in stock. I have all I need for my 12x build on the way except for the driver...

You think that's bad.
I have the materials to build a prototype, like you apart from a driver.
When/if the flexmod comes back into supply I have already had offers for my "idea's product" for at least 25 units regardless of price or proven effectiveness.
Chances are; If these come back into circulation, buy as many as you need because I might have to buy 200+.
Another option is if anyone has a useful idea for a driver with similar properties (like 12v+ input and the style that doesn't "burn off" excess voltage).
My application needs to be as efficient as possible, constant ON, only ~500mW (more COULD be useful but not demanded).
There would be a "finders' fee" for such ;)
