Ordered a 80mw pointer a week ago and noticed just now that on their website that it says


According to FDA regulations,laser pointers are limited at 5mW,so we cannot send any laser pointers higher than 5mW,to USA markets.

they took payment and is still in process of being made so I was wondering if I will actually receive it or if I should ask for a refund?

There are FDA regs for higher power lasers in the 5mW to 500mW range that laserBtB builds into their hosts... stuff like activation delay, key safety switch, pin safety in the tailcap, aperture shutter, etc. I'm not sure what all the specifications are for the FDA, but laserBtB can provide that FDA compliance paperwork for import, so you are fine.

Their lasers are quite nice. I just received my first one last week.

^^ good to hear was this the order you PMed me about?

ALSO SOME webstores have this but you need not worry-its a 'formality'

Same with expensive lasers offered as only 5 mW- expect them to be 'O' spec.

We all pay some price due to the IDIOTS who are apparently IGNORANT about when and when to use their lasers. Expect the unexpected.. One
friend I have will never see his laser again-- and all he did was aim it at noght at a stop sign- SOMETIMES that is ALL it takes..

TO the OP-- if you want to continue at LPF and want the best advice/help ETC. you REALLY need to go to your profile and FINISH adding info. A few here will not bother to help you until we know where you reside.

hmm ordered on the 29th and the laser is still in production and havent heard anything from them since

They cannot send LASER POINTERS that are over 5mW to the US. But you can be damn sure they will send a Handheld Laser or Portable Laser system Just remember - it isnt for pointing! Just for lab stuff or holography...etc. If you get asked of course.

I'm sure others can chime in here, but if there is one thing you need with this hobby, it's patience. Stuff being built half way around the world and being shipped quickly just doesn't happen in the same time signature as the rest of first-world microwave society.

9 days is nothing.
