LaserBee I LPM 30 Day Sale! *OVER*

Re: LaserBee I LPM 30 Day Sale! 10 units!! Act fas

Hey thanks for the rep Jerry, my first point. ;D ;D ;D

The meters working great by the way had a friend bring some lasers over and his LPM, the measurments were so close, and he had to pay so much more for his meter lol ;D ;D.

Haven't had the time to start making my enclosure for it yet, maybe over the christmas when I have some time off. Have started planning the enclosure though it's going to be brilliant, and made from wood.

+ rep points for Spyderz and Jerry for a great product and great customer service anwsering any questions ;)

Only 2 Units Left, 5 Days Left on the Sale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your kind words.... and taking advantage of this LaserBee I Sale offer... ;)

What make of LPM did your friend bring over... :-?

BTW... don't forget to post Photos of your build when it is done...

and remember not to mount your LaserBee I Thermopile into an enclosed box... ::)

Re: LaserBee I LPM 30 Day Sale! 10 units!! Act fas

Can't remember the make I'll have to ask him it, all I remember it was one of the potable units where you shine the laser into the actual unit itself, He paid around £400 for it but I don't think it was new when he bought it.

Will definatly post some photos once the build is done though I don't see me having enough time to start it till i get some time off for christmas :'(

I was going to mount the thermopile seprate and use some gold bannana plugs for connecting it to the enclosure that way I can detach it to put it away seperate.... or maybe I could build a compartment inside the enclosure, just for storing it though ::)

If it was a black pen style LPM with a small LCD screen.... that would be a Coherent LaserCheck...
It is an Optical Sensor LPM and not very good at 405nm...
If it is not a LaserCheck... let me know... ;)

Instead of using Banana Jacks we use standard Mono Mini Phone Jacks/Plugs on the Deluxe LaserBee..

You're enclosure for the LaserBee I sound interesting.... I'll be looking forward to the Pics when you
get a chance to post them..  8-)

After checking pics of this online I would say yes it is most definatly a Coherent LaserCheck, will still ask him what model it was next time I see him though. ;)

Mono phone jacks, good idea must be a bit awkard when connecting up the wires though, mind you it's only one thing to plug in when it's all setup.

Re: LaserBee I LPM 30 Day Sale! 10 units!! Act fas

lols. well I received it today. Pretty cool- found out my handheld is ~91mW. But I'm having some difficulty getting the data logging feature to work. I installed the software and drivers etc. Pretty sure it recognizes everything - no yellow ! marks. It says the usb to rs232 is on COM7, so I went to the LPM prog and set it to COM7. It says COM port failed to open on the first run attempt. Once the error message pops up, it resets the settings in the config menu and I put it back to COM7 and it doesn't give an error message when I hit run, but doesn't pick anything up either.

Also, is there anyway that maybe in a future edition of the prog, you guys could include up to like COM20 on the list because my USB ports came at COM9, COM10, COM11. Had to change one of my ports to fit the scale. An even better idea would be to let it discover available COM ports and select from that instead of just a hardcoded list..

Re: LaserBee I LPM 30 Day Sale! 10 units!! *ALL GO

Units 9 and 10 have been ordered 8-)
Pending payment.

If you missed out, PM me ;)

Hey treb76....
                    glad you got it.....

The program was licensed from a member here on LPF as it is... We don't have the Source Code...
We wanted a simple RS232 PC Interface... You could always try to contact knimrod.. but he hasn't been
here in quite a while...
What OS are you running.... on what type of computer... :-?
I've heard that running Vista on a 64 bit machine is out of the question for using a USB to RS232 cable..
Maybe a PCI card with an RS232 port... :-?
Have you tried it on a PC with a Serial Port.... :-?
Have you tried all the ports available in the PC Interface Software... :-?

Re: LaserBee I LPM 30 Day Sale! 10 units!!

I'm running XP x86 SP3. amd dual core 1.7ghz laptop. Unfortunately, my laptop doesn't have a serial port. My desktop does have one, but I haven't had time to go check it out yet.

I tried all the COM ports (1-8) on the laptop and they all gave me the message "COM port open failed"- something similar to that.
I'll have to plug it into my desktop tomorrow to verify that it's working. I just have no idea why every port failed... wonder if safe mode will work....

Are there any specific services that need to be running or a specific configuration for port speed/partiy/etc?

EDIT: I just ran a COM port monitor program- some demo I downloaded- and it is able to successfully open port 6 but still no information comes through. Not sure what I'd be looking for, but it's just a blank screen- no hex coming in. Maybe my converter just sucks that bad.

The data is being sent out as 9600 baud 8N1...  The PC Interface software has been tested on the
Serial Port with Win98, ME, Win2000, and XP... We've heard it works on Vista 32 bit..
We've also tested it using a USB to RS232 converter on ME, Win2000 and XP...
It could maybe be your Converter cable.... Each LaserBee I gets tested twice before we ship it out.
Try it on a standard Serial Port... 8-)

Just had a thought.... In the PC Software CONFIG window..... make sure the "Gain" is set to (1)...

BTW what is your laptop using 6 Com ports for... :-? :-?

Re: LaserBee I LPM 30 Day Sale! 10 units!!

Everything checks out settings wise. It doesn't log on my gf's vista x86 laptop either... Will check with my desktop tomorrow [has a native serial port].
