I have read in a few other posts that outdoor laser shows are illegal without prior authorization. Does anyone know of a company that I can bring out to my school for an "October Spectacular" that we are hosting? I am located in southern Georgia in the US and have no idea what to look for or ask about. I am looking for a professional that knows the laws and what needs to be done to have a safe, legal, and amazing show. Assuming that what I want to do is even possible, I figure may as well ask the experts!

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

try photonlexicon.com they are ALL about shows they can help you more.....if you want a pointer stay here ....

Being at a school actually helps you, but outdoors will still pose a small challenge unless the beams are completely confined and not allowed into airspace. Since you're a school you can exploit a loophole in the law that allows for high-powered academic demonstration of lasers, so you can do your show for an audience on school grounds without any federal government authorization. Local laws may vary, but most allow for this as well to the best of my knowledge.

You may get some leads by contacting ILDA.

yoy have a whole year to find someone-correct?

Just to say it, obviously safety is paramount, as well as some experience and knowledge of how to do laser shows, but the OP seems primarily concerned with hiring someone who will likely know the ins and outs. That part didn't register the first time I read the question..maybe one beer too many. Might be about time for bed..
