Well, as I know it, cancer can only apear if you alter DNA to cause mutations.And only UV is short enough to either mess with DNA directly or create free radicals that mess with DNA, indirectly.

Lasers are not the reason you get cancer though :
It is the UV that gives you cancer.

It kinda makes sence that it would sterilize the wound because they sell those UV toothbrush boxes.

Yea but that is really short wave.I think somewhere around 200-250nm.That's ionizing radiation right there.It would mess with your tissue just like it messes with the bacteria. A really bad idea to sterilize the wound with :
