its not a concept because WL just put out an attachment for their Sabre to make it a flashlight. Now you can have both the worlds most expensive laser and flashlight in one :D

They've also put a laser projector in the headlights of a newer car...not sure the model. Lets you project things on walls or the directions on the road in front of you.

So, now we are putting lasers below eye level and at obviously eye damaging power. Don't tell me you've never had normal bright headlights blind you. And I don't believe a .5mW light is going to provide enough illumination for night driving. Now we have to wear laser goggles to protect us from the beamers. (Pun Intended)

Calm down bill. The laser is just the pump source that excites a phosphor. It's an identical process to that of white LEDs - just more efficient. They will be no more hazardous than your typical high power LEDs.

Oh. A laser excited fluorescent bulb eh? Darn I thought they were using Multimodes' RGB...
