What are the laws relating to importing these items? Diodes, modules and drivers for lasers? Or do the laser laws only relate to complete laser pointers/systems? :thanks:

Hello and welcome to the forum.
AFAIK, you can import the parts and pieces just fine, it's just the complete pointers that are illegal.
Have a lok around, we have a bunch australian members too.
Be safe, read the stickies, and might I suggest the 1st link in my signature as well. ;)

Battery Operated pointers are not allowed modules, diodes, labbys etc are fine, ive never had a problem getting them. Pointers on the otherhand ive probably lost 100-200$ but now i know how its done :p.

I'm not Australian, but I'm curious to know the literal structure of your laws preventing battery operated pointers. Link me?

(Would a capacitor powered pointer be ok?)
