I've recently gotten a MASS of emails/pm's from folks asking me to set the current on the flexdrives for them. It is my belief that this is because they do not have the basic necessary skills to do so and if that's the case they shouldn't be making lasers in my opinion.

You HAVE to at least have some basic knowledge in electronics in order to build a laser.

Give that man a No-bull prize!

I've been thinking the same for a looong time, but haven't known quite how to put it without offending people - some of whom I like, really, but... don't know which end of the red wire goes to the negative side of the battery!

"I'd like to build a laser... but not actually build it. Can you help me with that?"

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

LOL absolutely not! See, one of the things about knowing a bit about electronics before starting your laser projects is having the maturity and forsight to understand that electronics themselves have thier own dangers. Couple that with a laser diode and you have the potential for a lot of harm being done. Now that being said, I've "fiddled" with electronics for 20 years or more. That does not mean I know what i'm about half the time. I still have a LOT to learn and do so almost daily. I do not cringe at my lack of knowledge. I embrace it!! An opportunity to learn something is a wonderful thing for me. Let me see if I can put it in a better light. When a tree or fruit stops growing, it decays. It's then cut down and either shredded and turned into paper for someone else to learn with, or burned. I will NEVER stop growing!!!

Can you confirm what I've paid for? I origionally requested dark metalic blue unpolished, don't know if that's in as an option now so much has changed. Also what stage are we at now with the process? Cheers...

They are looking very nice. Are the tail caps a little thicker this time?

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

yeah in order to cut the grooves into the side of the barrel and hide the 0-rings, they had to increase the diameter of the barrels to 25mm. Makes them a bit more hefty in hand and you feel like your holding a monster. As I told lava not long ago, it's nice to have these a little bigger, as it's just not very easy to equate power with something skinny and short. Might be a man thing.
