I'll have to find my old sources for those firmwares. I made compatible versions when I did a rewrite of EagleEye in 2010... I think I have them on an external somewhere.

The DMCA notice was unnecessary - I understand IP law and have no legal ground of any kind to make any accusation.

I'm out of the loop on this, so let me ask a couple questions from a user perspective.

I own a Kenometer Pro with Trevors LumenOS on it. How does this differ (eagle eye) from what I'm using now (LumenOS)?

I guess I also would like to know or understand, if this is a hardware add-on, is it reversible? I know with the LumenOS I have, it is a firmware upgrade, I can swap firmware on this via my laptop.

Not trying to stir anything up here, just interested in useage. I have a couple LPM's and want to make the best use of the ones I own.

You don't need to do anything but connect 4 wires to the
Arduino. Two for power and 2 for data communications. Nothing
changes on your LPM's Arduino PCB.. and the LUM-B-GON circuit
can be removed at any time.

You will still be able to use the original Data Logging Software
even with the circuit connected. There is nothing to be changed
on the original Arduino and no need to re-program anything..

With this circuit you can now use our Eagle Eye™ Software with
your Kenometer PRO or USB.
We feel... since we've tried both.. that our Data Logging software
has easier to use and more advanced features...
I'll be posting a schematic this week.

clip on is easily removed, solder not as easy and depends on experience.

So does that mean I could use either LumenOS or Eagle Eye without changing anything once its connected?

I'll have to take a look at the eagle eye software and compare myself.

The Kenometer Pro that Jerry has contains an Arduino Duemilanove - which has rows of female headers. Things can be easily connected and disconnected from it.

The production units contain an Arduino Nano that you'll need to solder / desolder.

It should be noted that EagleEye doesn't support fractional input. Using it will lose you that part of the datastream.

...but if you routinely do things like zero Luminosity while there's laser input (causing it to "lock up"), then I suppose a switch to EagleEye would be worthwhile... :p

Thats what I was afraid of - soldering onto it.

I like the fractional input. Its one of the reasons I bought LumenOS.

Still going to check out Eagle Eye. I always can buy another LPM for something! Right :)

As far as I can tell it seems like fractional input works,
unless I have misunderstood.

Interesting! So I suppose the little 7-segment control doesn't support it, but ZedGraph does.

Any more news of this? It would save me the effort of having to make everything compatible with EagleEye.

Most of my free time these days is spent on Ellipsis. Not that I have that much free time. :p

Well, since this seems to have not materialized...

If any Kenometer Pro / USB owner was waiting with bated breath for this to come out, and no longer wanted to use Luminosity, there's Peregrine:

It's not a direct successor to Luminosity, but it is, in my opinion, much better. And it's free.

If there's not a hardware solution, at least there's a software "LUM-B-GON" solution. :D

If any Kenometer Pro / USB owner was waiting with bated breath for this to come out, and no longer wanted to use Luminosity, there's Peregrine:

It's not a direct successor to Luminosity, but it is, in my opinion, much better. And it's free.

If there's not a hardware solution, at least there's a software "LUM-B-GON" solution. :D

A much more elegant solution too, no hardware modification required, just easy to use software. It's cheaper as well.

Plus, having used both Peregrine and Eagle Eye my opinion is the Peregrine is much better, it has more features, looks more like a professional program and has a lot fewer bugs than eagle eye, I've yet to have it fail on me whereas when exporting from eagle eye it can occasionally crash and I will loose all my data. :cryyy:
