The green line seperates the input voltage *(whatever source it may be. In the picture it was the MCU) from the panel meter since they are two different things in the Lites.

Oh and laserbee, I have verified that the single dc/dc converter is the reason you cannot get the offset circuit to work.. I wish I had realized this prior to sending those heads to you as I would have included some of the dual dc/dc converters.

my 2 Lites so that I can add the Zero Offset circuit...

Uhm, just as idea ..... what about use a single converter ? ..... something similar to ZHRP0300512, or REC3-0512DR, or any equivalent ? ..... input 5V, output +12 / gnd / -12 .....

That's what I have in my Lites.... a single DC/DC converter and the
Zero Offset circuit does not work with it ss Kenom stated above...
It requires 2 separate DC/DC comverters...

@ Kenom.... Still waiting for Shipping costs for the single DC/DC
converters for my Lites....:wave:

Now, THIS is weird ..... really ..... :confused:

The inside circuitry of almost all the double output DC-DC converters, is right the same thing as connecting two single ones as you've done .....

I'm not saying that you're saying or doing it wrong, just saying that, as for all the laws of the electronic, it looks almost impossible (in theory, at least ..... i've seen so much things "theorically impossible" in electronics happens time by time, that an absolute cannot be stated :p) ..... except, maybe, if you've tried with a 1,5W one with 40mA output, or similar, in this case it can have caused problems with too low current ..... but, really, if the converter had enough current, it's really strange ..... :thinking:

Can you say me the part number of the one that is not working ?

The DC/DC converter works just fine... but I can't get the Zero Offset
circuit that Kenom posted (Post #335) to have any effect on the display
readings...

The part number of my DC/DC converters is CINCON EC4A04H

I suppose you're referring to the second one, with the pot ..... it's strange, a similar configuration (considering also the 100Kohm resistors on the sides of the pot, as said from Ken), it looks it just can shift the ground pin few millivolts plus or minus, compared with a "pure" ground level ..... but only if you don't connect together the input and output grounds of the converter, and it don't seem enough for a complete calibration circuit ..... which ground point you was using for the millivoltmeter, the one from input or the one from output/head, in the non-working configuration ?

True, anyway, that i don't have one of these heads for test it myself, so i'm just wondering, about it ..... thinking also if this can affect the readings ..... do you know if Ken still have the ones that he said was died ?

i suppose this head don't have a trimmer for calibrate its output, right ?

And the ec40a04 is rated for 225ma, so it must work good ..... ah, well, mysteries of electronics :p :D

The heads have a PCB inside with 3 Trimpots... The heads are already
calibrated to 1mV=1mW...

yes the circuit offsets the ground plane by about 20mv +/- to offset teh voltage reading from the thermopile to compensate for temperature shift. If the voltage reading is -2mv you can adjust it positive again by tweaking the potentiometer and it will show 0 again.

I do have a dead thermopile if you want to buy it HIMNL9. The couplings in it are fine, just the op-amp circuit that is dead.

ahh my apologies, I've got soo many people asking so many questions about the meters and such, that I completely forgot about the quote for you. I can throw 2 dc/dc converters in the mail gratis. God knows I owe you enough.

I've got a few people that offered to assemble their own Kenometer Pro's so they could get them sooner. so I've got a ton of packages going out.

I've got yours assembled and will be shipping tomorrow Quisp. I've got most of the meters assembled and ready to ship or waiting on confirmation of what was ordered.

I am now taking orders for new meters as well. Lead time about 3 days.
