Just ordered a 2,200mw 445nm blue laser!

I guess I am a suspicous old fuddyduddy. If someone asked me "Hey! Can you pop a tire with your laser?"

... I would say "WHY should I care about popping tires? Are you the kind of person that needs to be 'watched'?"

I posted a link to a 2500 watt co2 laser and people were talking about poping blimps

Yup I also always ask "Why!?!?" with a very concerned/serious expression:p

My coworker said so he could do it from afar and no one would see. To which my reply was, "Don't you think a beam of light that leads right back to you is kind of obvious?"

Jacob / I.E.; Yes, IR lasers come to mind. The old discussion here - irresponsibility. Probability dictates that sooner or later, SOME jerk will try it AND get the resources to do it (a powerful IR laser)... and pop tires and crash blimps.

When it hits the news, I hope I miss the broadcast.

He goes through all that to show someone the laser they just bought but does not provide a LPM test. You can do all that with a 900mW 445.
