Look into your local laws, its usually not exactly /okay/ but that doesn't mean it can't be done. Also do a little research into making your own.
Best place to get them is to go to an "Indian reservation" near you, they usually sell them at that time of the year. Good luck and be safe!

do you know if they only sell them during christmas and independence day?
or year round :)

I have only seen them near the 4th of july sadly, check your local laws / the laws with what ever shipping service and the certain website has, I am sure some will ship them.

No, it is not legal to ship fireworks. Most mail is typically shipped via commercial aircraft and we all know explosives on a plane = huge no no. You "might" be able to ship fireworks via ups ground if you go about doing it the right way such as declaring it to them and placing the proper warnings on the box.

i know on indian reservations in las vegas and in alabama that the good arial fireworks are sold all year round. i think shipping is out of the question though.

michael.

Most likely no. However if you do it smart there's almost no chance of getting caught. You'll just need a friend to get the fireworks for you as the companies won't ship fireworks.

It's probably easier to just go to wyoming/indian reservations etc and buy a shitload of fireworks in bulk for your future celebrations. That's what I do at least.

This isn't like getting caught with a laser. If you get caught doing this, there will be SERIOUS repercussions, especially in a post 9/11 world.

probably not...

If you can source them locally and get them shipped via ground mail then you should be OK...

Why not just take a ride to a city that does sell them. I mean, you ARE in Texas. Where guns laws lax, and they are executing murderers like there is no tomorrow. I dont see why there should be an effort in getting fireworks.

... saw this thread earlier today.

There is a *CHANCE* (depending on HOW you were going to get the stuff shipped?) that there could be a detonation in-transit. Imagine what that could do. Damage to mail... destroyed letters & packages, not to mentioned possible injury or worse to personnel involved in shipping... Felony=Yes.

Realize how HOT it is here in Texas now. At least here in Abilene. 100+ degree heat EVERY DAY. (I think today it was supposed to be 104, and I think they are predicting 106 some day(s) this week... )

You can't say that, say, a UPS / USPS / FedEx carrier would absolutely NOT set your package on the bumper / loading platform of his truck, and then "be right back"...

... but getting that cup of coffee might take a little too long, or he / she stops to chat with someone.

A package full of fireworks... sitting outside in the daytime... in 100+ degrees... on a metal bumper or loading platform...

"Dark Humor". I get it. But NOT funny if it actually happened. And it probably IS more likely than you might expect.

hmmm... i guess ill just make a road trip.
oh and did they sell fireworks in abilene this year?

I'm generally a "night-owl"; I am up all night, and I generally sleep in the daytime, unless I am expecting packages.

So I was up most of the night on July 3rd, 4th, 5th...

I didn't hear a SINGLE firecracker, rocket, whatever... I guess they ARE cracking down...

Come to think of it, LAST year, I only heard fireworks ONCE...

Some idiot in my apartment complex was throwing firecrackers off of his balcony in the early morning hours on the 5th of July. About 3 AM or 4 AM. I went outside, and at first I was polite and respectful but firm. I am generally respectful of others at first, even if they are doing something stupid and not-very-well-thought-out. THEN he called me "dude" as a preface to explaining his actions (something I detest). The situation was ... resolved.
