it might be..but do you mean the smoke caused the "Scatter"? cus i got rid of some of that .. i mean thers a bright perfect circle around the dot..and a small bright oval comnig from dot. i dont think smoke will cause that? ill try to get more pics up

Did cleaning the lens solved the problem?
Since today my x85 has exactly the same blurred circle as in your picture (it can still burn stuff)
And i also burned some stuff pretty close to it.

I've cleaned the lens with some special type of cloth (which i normally use to clean the lenses of my SLR camera)
I wrapped it around a q-tip and gently moved it in circles over the lens.

Now my X85 is shining perfecly again

So it was the smoke after all

HINT: Dont burn stuff too close to a laser -- especially matches which tend to splatter all over the place.
