I am going to make a red laser i already bought the stuff and i wanted to ask some of you guys if what i got for the driver is right OK so this is it:

LM317T Regulator x1
1k-ohm Cermet Potentiometer x1 (will set to 100)
10uf 35v Capacitor x1 (supposed to be 16v but not available will this work?)
10 ohm 1W metal film resistors x2
1N4001 Diode x1
Printed Circuit Board x1
PC-826 Red Laser Diode ~300mW x1 (from odicforce.com)

This is what i have as refference and some other pics

Already have a soldering iron, wire and solder.
I was going to order a Copper diode mount from aixiz but they have 2 different sizes 3.8mm and 5.6mm which one should i get?

Oh and a 9v battery

Ah, again with same old "2x 10 ohm resistor + pot" story.

Seriously where is that damned guide telling people to do that?

You're going to have difficult time setting all that up, especially because of potenciometer, that is an INCREDIBLY bad idea for a starting/learner's driver.

God knows how many diodes I fried that way.

Keep LM317, and capacitor. Find new resistor according to this:

Resistance = 1.25 / Wanted current.

Your wanted current is between 300 and 450mA. Ideally 400mA.

I'll help you out, let's take this to Personal Messages correspondence.

Thanks for input, everybody.
