Yes, I need your help! Is Laser a focusing light or defocusing?

Did you ever get an answer? I am looking to do the same thing, de-focusing the light of colored laser pointers to illuminate a piece of crystalware from a small distance inside a glass showcase, and achieve a Red, White and Blue effect on it... If you found an answer, can you share it please? Thanks, Michael Buet

If you remove the collimator lens from a laser, it will behave as a coherent light flashlight.
edit:
depending on laser power / diode cavity type, it may have one "stripe" of light, or multiple "stripes".

You want LEDs. Lasers are not appropriate for this.
