ok, i recently successfully built a blu-ray laser from a 803t sled and i have to say, it's pretty badass
Firstly, i noticed it's not like ones i see on videos. mine is a violet color until it hits a white surface (paper, t-shirt), only then dose the laser dot turn a blue'ish hue. is this something only experienced in human vision and not on a camera?
Secondly, when i am trying to focus the laser, the laser dot reflecting off a white wall is difficult to see, i sort of have to squint to see the laser correctly . it is as if its surrounded by ambient noise. i can only explain it as looking like a "firework"
IDK, i was messing with some IR LD a few weeks back (not knowing they were IR but merely some weak ass red LD), i wouldn't be surprised if i exposed my eyes to excessive IR Radiation. ...though i hope not.
