IR Laser goggles VLT

Does anyone know of goggles for 700-1100nm that have a 40%+ VLT? Looking to spend 100-200$.

IIRC OEM laser systems used to carry something like what I want but they shrunk their selection, they don't carry nearly as much as they used to :cryyy:

The ones from survival laser would be the closest fit, but IIRC they are 800nm-1200nm or something like that, and VLT is definitely below 40%.

There are other goggle manufacturers out there, will be pricey though, if they even make them.

With OEM, consider giving them a call... fair chance they don't list everything they can actually sell. (That's just a guess, but it's usually the case with manufacturers.)

I wish I had known you were looking for some of these a month ago. I have a couple of pair of really high end IR wraparound style safety glasses that were provided with multi-KW medical lasers quite a few years ago. I was going through boxes and found them packed away with the 6.2KW IR laser I had bought from them. I've already repacked and put it back into storage. I really only need one pair for my own use. I know they are also rated for CO2 lasers as well as the near IR.

You might want to check out this site, they have a lot of options to choose from.

Laser Protective Eyewear

The sets I have are this style, but have better VLT and the filter color is grey.

Flex Seal Laser Safety Goggles, NdGa:YAG, 32% VLT, 130º view, Poly

Both sets were designed for use by surgeons that use Nd:YAG, Erb:YAG, or CO2 medical lasers. The second set I have covers those wavelengths plus UV and 532nm. The VLT on that set is lower, but that's the set I want to keep due to the additional UV protection.

I'll check that out. Those flex seals are what I'm looking for. Those sport style ones don't cover enough for my taste. I like the goggles best.

OEM added some goggles to the online store for me

Ended up buying these:
IR-755/810/980/1064 : ML1 - 808, 980, 1064nm, YAG
in Style 60.

Good that you got exactly what you wanted, not settling for something else.

I like OEM, but their website refresh was poorly implemented. I also hate those giant menus. They could at least compact them if we're not using tablets or other fing-er based interfaces that need bulbous interfaces.

Yeah, their new website layout is nothing but problems for me. Their old layout was professional and easy to navigate. I wonder why they changed it :thinking:

It wouldn't let me create an account from the order page, I had to go back to the main page and click on the quick create link to make it. Lots of bugs with the new site

I had to dig out the box with my 6.2KW laser today to get my prototype LPM. While I had it out I pulled out my safety glasses/goggles to check the ratings. The DVO goggle ratings are listed as

O.D. 7 @ 190-380nm
O.D. 5 @ 700-1200nm
O.D. 5 @ 10,600nm

and

O.D. 5.5 @ 750-765nm
O.D. 6 @ 766-860nm
O.D. 7 @ 861-1064nm
O.D. 6 @ 1065-1162nm
O.D 5.5 @ 1163-1180nm

The Premier are simple YAG/ERB safety glasses rated O.D. 5 @ 1064/2940nm
