how do i get a ir filter suiteable for a 5mw green new wish laser purchased from dx. if anyone can help i would appreciate it

What about the true 50mw laser? Should i get an ir filter for that one?

50mW is at the top end of where IR filtering is optional. All green lasers above 50mW should have IR filtering..

IR ONLY MATTERS IF YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT GETTING AN ACCURATE POWER MEASUREMENT.
Sorry for the caps but people get so confused so quickly around here.... When using a green pen, DONT WORRY ABOUT THE IR. The green is going to damage your eyes WAAAAYYYY before the (scattered and diminished) IR ever will.
