IR filter in Arctic S3?

Why does the documentation of the Wicker Arctic S3 say to never remove the IR filter from the laser?
Why is there an IR filter anyway? If the beam is restricted to 445nm with a very narrow peak?

Because Wicked Lasers have no clue as to what they are
doing or talking about..

You will need to do a bit of research and reading about
Lasers on the Forum...

As was stated above... there is only 445nm emitting from
a 445nm Laser Diode...:)

^^ as Jerry said. They probably copypasted the text from a manual for the original Spyder 3 (532nm DPSS) and forgot to remove that.

I once seen a YT video "How to make laser burn" (or something like that), where they were throwing a RED dilda in a fridge to cool the DPSS crystal. :D

Won't kill it, but won't make it work better either. DPSS crystal sets like very narrow bands of temperature. Temperatures similar to what humans like, actually.

If you use your DPSS green in the winter, you'll find that you'll be warming it up in your hands before it emits anything useful. Some chinese 532 pointers require warming above room temperature to produce anything but IR.

Then, soon again after a bit of a duty cycle, they get too hot, and go multimode and the power drops.

So "colder isn't better", and neither is warmer. DPSS: Don't run it too cold, don't run it too long. There is no "fridge trick" unless you want to temporarily convert your 532 laser to a 1064 laser.
