And much better! IMHO
Yes I do actually rocket. You can see it here. http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/fs-285mw-532-dhom-analogue-66897.html
So, I do have an honest opinion, because I own both. Yet, I don't count my shitbee as a real LPM. I hate that thing.
^^^ My opinion please don't flame.

Do you own an Alpha, Ben? Last I remember, you had a laserbee.... How can you give an "Honest Opinion" if you don't have an Alpha to compare to??
I'll jump on that train too. I've owned both an Alpha, and now a LaserBee USB. In fact, I sold my Alpha to buy the LaserBee. There is no doubt in my mind, the Alpha is a superior product from a quality perspective. The LaserBee USB, for me, wins on functionality. And I hate that, because I find the unit to be a quality nightmare - I really hate the LPM itself.
So many things are awful about the LaserBee USB. The software is buggy under Windows 7, the USB interface is sketchy and intermittent, the cable doesn't look safely attached to the unit itself, there's a phantom red button that doesn't really do anything that I can identify, the USB cable is too short, and not detachable, the headphone jack is flimsy and cheap, the software itself is missing some obvious features, etc etc etc. I really don't like my LaserBee.
BUT, the USB interface still keeps me "satisfied" relative to the Alpha I owned. The ability to take a screenshot, instead of photographing the Alpha's LED display, is what keeps me with the LaserBee for now.
That said, if there was any USB LPM other than a LaserBee that I could affordably acquire, right now, I would in a heartbeat. The Alpha was a substantially better made unit from a physical perspective. If Radiant made a USB unit, I'd jump on that tomorrow. Until then, I'm stuck with the LaserBee, hating almost every minute of it.
Funny.... I haven't received a PM from you either about
any issues with your LaserBee...
