Interested in a RGB Laser

I have a laserlands RGB and it works well... I had to post a review on the laser but unfortunately I have been too busy this week and I wasn't able to actually start the review.
For my personal use it's a nice little object.
Here are some pics... review to come:

I want to be rich- 40 years younger and have all my hair back--I would say the chances that we both will get what we wish for are about equal. The rgbs at LL and Techhod are LAB set ups and IIRC you want a portable- these are also TTL blanking which means you are limited to ONLY seven colors.

But I think you already knew all of this to the troll finger is now pointed at you.

GL all the same..

BTW forget LL as Techood is a better choice every time.

On the contrary.
I want to turn the RGB laser into a portable laser by strapping it onto my forearm with some Velcro straps and pretend I am a Highlander

If possible, I'll add a galvo and Make my own rainbow :)
As the signature says.

PS: This is getting kinda confusing here. Some people love their LL RGB, while other says Techhood is the way to go since they are "better".... in what way are they better?? Better beam alignment? Better diodes? Better dichros? Better capacitors? Better at what exactly???

nah , that pic is not mine.
its just a nice little pic I found on the Internet.
Kind of a goal you might say lol.

A rainbow STREAKING ACROSS THE DARK SKY .Hundreds gathers at the bottom of the mountain , seeking the source of the rainbow. For the promised pot of gold.
MAN!
Its going to be BIBLICAL!
Only if I know more about lasers and most importantly... have MORE MONEY.

PS: Theres still the question tho. In what way is Techhood better than Laserlands?

better for what?I have had dealings with both- my opinion is LL is not the company I want to use.. Techood has showed me better service every time..

FYI the pics was made without any galvos in the process- they only move beams- they cannot change the colors just move them fast... VERY fast.

Enjoy the forum-- I will rain no more on your parade.( xcept when the sun is shinng-- rainbow time!!)

Props for the link to Dr Sam< my laser guru and my friend.. I may have to give you a +3 rep bump just for that..

You want a rainbow of lasers... you will have to spend a hole bunch of money.... first because power figures have to be high in all your lasers.

I got an exelent service from laserlands, I got my lasers shipped within 3 days from the payment. and they arrived to destination within a week.... packed very well and no damage...

I would deal with them anytime really.

Men you are in Hong Kong. A shipping to you should take like 2 days from laserlands. Try them out... you won't be dissapointed.

Both of them are based in China.. so shipping time really isn't an issue.
WHAT IS an issue is this.
Laserlands:
1w RGB White Laser Module Beam Combined 532nm Green+Blue 445nm+Red 650nm 638nm
1w RGB White Laser Module Beam Combined 532nm Green + Blue 445nm + Red 650nm

Techhood
RGB 1W Laser Module/Combined Laser beam of 532nm+638nm+445nm/White Laser Beam
RGB 1W Laser Module/Combined Laser beam of 532nm+635nm+450nm/TTL
RGB 1W Laser Module/Combined Laser beam of 532nm+660nm+450nm/TTL/Analog Modulate
RGB 800mW Laser Module/Combined Laser beam of 532nm+638nm+445nm/White Laser Beam

They are so DARN SIMILAR , yet the price can be so different.

How do I even choose???

As long as they arrive within the PayPal protection , are durable, have good customer service . I can care less about the shipping time.

As for the Laser Rainbow.
I know . Thats why I am saving lots /

Why do you want a 1W white? I mean isn't it a bit too much? I got myself the 200mW and it is way strong...

Cos brighter is better

Can your white laser do this?

Well neither can a 1W, but still.
But seriously.
How do I even choose?

I would like a 1W white if I could get me hands on one :) but check out the reviews. I wanna say the higher powered one had some alignment issues but you would need to look through te reviews again(on my phone at ER so I cannot, srry)

EDIT: choose techhood! Did you not listen to Hakzaw1?

I KNOW!!!
But even if I choose Techhood , they have like 7 different 1W RGB modules with minimum information about how are they different beyond from the warmup time and input voltage.
I can see some of them are more compact than others by using a L-shaped config instead of E.
Some have their guts lying outside the module , some doesn't.
But what does that even mean????

When I search the LPF forum , I can only find 2 "review" of such products and they are all oompa loompa sized.

PS: More importantly, how do I even power those modules? Do I need a driver to modulate the voltage?? Or are they plug and play style lasers that takes battery boxes? Oh gawd! HARD CHOICES MAKE MY BRAIN HURT
I would email Techhood about it , but chances are they'll give me a biased reply ...
I'm all ears over here :(

IIRC how you power then is explained in the listing or should be- you don't modulate the voltage- nor the lasers as they are very likely ttl blanking ONLY- what you can do is up the current. realistically you cant build one for what Techood asks-- My main bitch witj LL was the failure to honor their warranty-- my 200mW 532 fatty module was in reality only 40 or less mW. i thought Merry & I were almost friends but she was unable to get me a replacement -- go with the best one techood sells nice starter kit for a laser projector w/ 7 colors (8 if you count black--lol)

OR just buy a working RGB projector with PC/db25 and be doing way more right from the box-- I have a GB on-going and there are 3 and maybe a fourth PJ offered.
you can join the GB pay directly and get yours shipped to you- PM to learn moar..
