 I haven't played with the SenTorch much yet, but for anyone who is interested the beam diverges appx. 6 to 8 feet away from the laser. So at this distance is where it burns best with mine...I will play with the focus later but I can already tell this was well worth the wait..

 Red lasers with their wider beams need to be focused to a point and it will light matches and slice through black tape with ease. I have a Pulsar and the beam is about 5mm wide from the aperture and this is a characteristic with most red beams. So don't expect them to behave like green laser guys
