In Search Of Someone To Build a Handheld Green Laser

Well I just came upon the Ple-Mini 520nm 1W laser from jetlasers that goes for $270. For something that is 1w that seems almost too low of a price and I'm sure there are compromises such as the duty cycle which I can't seem to find on their website. Ideally I want something like it not sure if anyone has experience with the exact one I'm looking at.

PL-E mini 520nm Green Laser
This has your name all over it. It will provide around an hour of runtime just not at 10 minute run cycles. Edit:just read a recent review of it and it was mentioned that under 10 minutes per charge and it runs off 18350/16340's not 18650's. My bad.
If you intend to run one for 10 minutes at a time you will have to order a build with a substantial copper heatsink.

Yea it definitely looks nice. Thing is is it worth it to go up to $400 to achieve the unlimited duty cycle I am looking for or just settle for something like the PL-E mini from jet lasers that is $270 without being able to run continuous. For me, the continuous duty cycle is a luxury I would like to have but at the same time it isn't the end of the world if I have to let it cool.

Most laser are limited duty, JL's are great units. You can't go wrong there. Good choice. :)

Just noticed the PL E Pro 532 prices. Damn tempting. What's going on with the price of 532's. A few months ago they were $200 more.

Since you have one could you tell me by any chance if you know what the recommended duty cycle is for you PL-E mini? Otherwise I assume you just play it safe if nothing was provided regarding it when you purchased it.

First, to address the power supply and wavelength. After looking into it further I can see how 520nm is easier all around and although 1 18650 battery could technically be done 2 seems it is easier. Like I said at the start I am a bit inexperienced on the difficulty of making what I'm asking and therefore I am going to adjust some things with my original post as I have no problem using an extra battery to power it and instead having 520nm. Right now I am talking with grainde about possible builds but I am open to hearing what other people can build too.

Jon but a clear idea of what you're looking for there is did you ? the right to understand !

I checked their site and couldn't find their recommended duty cycle.

I run mine no more than a minute, it doesn't get to warm. I play all mine pretty safe.

Hi if you want to run a long duty cycle as Dden says a huge copper sink like in my signature picture. Then you can run a NDG 520nm diode for a long cycle..

Rich:)
