JPG compressor: "Okay then, I'm here to make this image smaller in size. Let's see now, where do I start?... I see a purple halo here. Let's change that to a blue halo. That green leaf? Let's make it a cyan leaf while we're here. Nailed it."
Yeah... when I use the jpeg setting to shoot, I don't notice a significant difference in hue vs. the RAW format except when it comes to saturation and contrast. Jpg colors appear more "washed out" and that is what the op's image illustrates.
I think the other example provided by DJNY involved some post-processing which altered the color of the laser beam.
