Mine keep exploding and smell rally bad when I connect them to 120 volts AC.

:'( :'( :'( :'(

I just don't get it.

Just didding..... ;) ;)
Mine work perfectly.

aha i see your prob! you need to connect them to 240AC, that's why they don't work! ;D ;D ;D

Things --

You overlooked the AC factor --- It's the negative side of the sin wave causing the problem.  The LD's can't take the reverse voltage !
A full wave bridge will correct this Vr problem AND provide almost 170 volts DC from a 120 VAC RMS source.  This is where a 47 Mfd cap helps  :D

Mike

By the way -- I have a bridge for sale  ;D

AAAAAAWWWWW

I LOVE HAPPY ENDINGS ;D

Don't forget to discharge the capacitor(surge suppressor) before soldering to the our tresured LD folks ;)

Cheers [smiley=beer.gif]

240V? I think that would spark the diode! ;D I'd love to see that through some super-fast frame rate! ;D

Seriously though... I can testify for Greg's integrity and for the health of the diodes that he ships. He's excellent at making sure the diodes are in perfect condition (as the packaging will tell you) and really great about keeping the cost to a minimum to us (as the price of the whole thing is OBVIOUSLY unbeatable!). People just need to appreciate what others do for them on this board. Just because we sell something doesn't mean we're a business. If you WalMart can offer you that defective (regardless of who's fault it is) warranty, I'm certainly positive that neither Greg, nor anyone else offering such a deal, business or personal, could afford to offer such a guarantee. :-?

Thank you very much Greg for what you continue to do for us here. You are a genuinely honest and excellent guy to deal with. I appreciate all that you do and offer.

Regards;
DDL

I expect that 10 year extended warranty card along with my LPM-1.. ;D
