Import Tax (US)

I got a bill from FedEx for 30.15 for Import (duty) tax.
What happens if I do not pay this bill? Any issues people can think of?

They forward it to collections dept, then you pay.

if it is from the state franchise tax board they can suspend your license, or if it is the irs then they will levy your bank account or paycheck. if it is from fed ex they can sue and if you lose, you will have to pay,, or the above mentioned things will happen.

over 30.15 - hmm.. suspend a license, not sure how that is connected.
Better to pay then.

i told you how it is connected. if you owe the state taxes, not irs, the state can and will suspend your license.

Again, failure to pay state tax and an issured cert/license to drive connected? Maybe if it was property (vehic) tax. What is even funnier is about 50% of residents of NYC, where I live are registered in the state of NY, and 20% are registered somewhere else other than NY. Maybe its a good thing that we don't have a national drivers cert/license. The day will come...

because the state franchise tax board is connected to the dmv. well in cali anyway. i know from experience unfortuantely. =(
