actually... if it really was free and 300mW... I would get the most expencive single mode (longitudinal) high-quality perfect-beamed labby that I could, for a few reasons.

1) it's meant to hold 300 or more mW the entire time you leave it on

2) the beam specs would be better

3) If we're getting something for free, we might as well pick the most expensive thing ;D

I'd have to go with the Hercules, just because it's going to be alot higher quality.
