I'm sorry too if I got a little misunderstood.
Ignis Fatuus recommended you another very great laser forum that you should
check out additionally.
But before you actually register and post over there, keep in mind that
things are a little different than here.
It's mostly about projectors, and handheld pointers are frowned upon.
If you go there and ask them how to build a pointer they might not be kind. ;)

yes, i am in a similar boat as you. still trying to put all the pieces of this together.
the circuit board driver thing has a place for you to solder the wires that go to your power source. and then it has a place to solder connections to the diode as well.
drlava's website is excellent for drivers. and he will preset amperage.

if i wanted to build a laser i wouldnt go to place about projectors.
youtube is a good place for seeing diode installation, seem everyone wants to make a vid doing a diode installation. an lpf member, styropyro, makes some good vids on laser building that he posts on youtube, some of his latest vids use the powersource and cpu heatsink from an old computer. the cpu heatsink has the axiz module installed in the fins.

i have a dead phr i think i will practice on with some axiz modules. you can go to modwerx.com or directly to aixiz modules.
and i am just getting the basics of soldering, i really have to practice that on some junk circuit boards.
