It is an old model but I got it for a great price.
It is a Pentax Optio S10
It is a 10mp camera with a 3x optical and a 5x digital zoom

I have only had it for a day and I have taken a couple of macro shots. I definitly need more practice with the manual focus.
Let me know what you think.
Sorry about the size....I know that they are big.

Hi iskor12,

Nice shots... particularly of the LDs...

... just jumping in with a couple of general tips for macro-shooting. If you don't mind?

Because most macro modes, lenses, etc give a very short depth-of-focus it is easy to find these photos blurred in the critical spot. Below are a couple of things I've found to be beneficial to getting the shot the way it should be.

1. If you have an SLR and have a seperate focus for the viewfinder, be sure this is correctly set before starting to shoot.

2. Good lighting will make your job soooo much easier! Doesn't have to be expensive, just get the thing lit!!! Try not to rely on the flash. Because you are so close to your subject the flash will either blank out and over expose, or, more likely, cast a shadow onto your subject.

3. When getting an initial focus, (manual or auto), be in a comfortable and stable position. (camera shake is a big issue with macro photos)

4. Once intitial focus is attained, pause, control your breathing, (possibly even holding your breath), and slowly move the camera itself in and out. You should then be far better able to choose the focus and therefore the shot you want.

After a little practice you will get the, "feel", of your camera and macro-shooting will be nailed!!!

Hope that was helpful.

M :)
