I AM SO ANNOYED RIGHT NOW!

Good lookup Phenol, it's a varistor (component Z1)and it blew because it's switches on when voltage gets too high. It's probably shorted out now. I'd just clip it and take one out of a old Tv or Stereo .... as replacement.
It goes across red and black wires so that DC I think.
Circuit should work fine without it.
But a diode or electrolitic cap could have shorted so make sure the the power plug read mor than 10 ohms or so.
Didn't know they make 220 plugs like USA 110.

um no, its AC 110V on those red and blacks.
Things is now seconds away from trying the device w/ a 110V converter, without the dead component. Since it seems it shorted.

Well, I mistook it for a strobe, but if it is a "disco light", what is it then? I'm just curious as I can't really think of what that would be.

here is what it is http://chauvetlighting.com/fixtures/intimidator1_fix.shtml and as BlueFusion said, YAY IT WORKS!!!, but the only problem i have now is that the 250W converter only runs the light for 10minutes or so, before heating up and blowing its own breaker. So i guess i've gotta swap it for the 500W model, even though its a big price rise from the 250W one. And yeah, i just cut the component completely off, and put it all back together. I don't think i'll bother replacing it, since i don't have one, and it works fine without it. Thanks for all the suggestions guys!

Why not mount up some fans or some TEC's to it to keep it nice and cool - sounds better than dumping a huge sum of cash on it in my book. OR you can email that clown that go the orders screwed up, and have him send you the proper one. Just some thoughts....

I think he'd rather not send it back seeing as it takes 3 months and $71 to ship either way... O_o

LOL to put a tec on this thing, you would need one alot more than 600W! the bulb alone is 250W, and yo can imagine how much heat that generates! ;D anyways i made up some pics on a page, so i might aswell post it. Pic 1 is the plug we use here in au(a guy on another forum asked :D)Pic 2 is the driver board(same pic as posted before) Pic 3 is the control circuit(controls DMX, steppers, light blanking, gobo's, basically everything but the bulb) the last pic is the gobo/colour wheel. That is basically a wheel with little patterns engraved in it, with coloured glass over them to colour the light, hooked to a very precise motor. the new 500W converter will be here very soon, then i can post some pics of what it does if you'd like :)

GEESH WTF, i forgot to post the pic??LOL well here is a pic showing the size of the converter, and that is the light next to it. the converter weighs 6kg(the light itself only weighs 4kg ;D), and takes FOREVER to cool down after use ;D

Things,
if I were U, I'd find a electronic surplus store and by another 220/110 Tx and hook it up
in parallel with your 100W Tx like this
pri1 with pri2
sec1 with sec2

You could also just buy another Tx like the one have in parallel like above.

as long as the voltage windings are the same/realclose your OK.

Why buy another 1?? This one works fine, just gets a little hot after a few hours :) Anyways those transformers cost MUCH more than i'm wanting to spend :D

Things --

I have used a 220 / 110 transformer primary as an autotransformer in the past. Ignore the secondary,
It's kind of a bucking circuit and cheep if you have a good sized old transformer around.

Mike
