I see... and is there any special need to have this external round case?
This diode laser does not seem to have it:
New Mitsubishi 645 655nm 350 500mW High Power Red Laser Diodes LPC 836 1 Pcs PCK | eBay
Its only a protection case (as some pictures in google say) or it might help with something else like heatsinking?
BTW the 'protection case' you talk about is the diode can. Can-less diodes are more sensitive to dust. Its not related to heatsinking. In laser hobby, we use both (closed can and open can) but you need to be careful to not touch the facets, internal wires, etc.
cheers
edit:
sorry if I'm being uncalled for but, he is asking about press fit?
if you don't want to press the diode, but insert it, and remove it easily later... use those:
they are called the O-like laser module. The golden piece in the middle screws into the housing, locking the diode. They are useful if you don't have any 'host' for your laser, like a pre-made flashlight, heatsink or whatever, made only for aixiz.
The O-like can take much more heat alone, compared to aixiz module.
