Trying to learn all I can form this site. Lots to digest.

Ok, lets say I want to build the C6 JAD kit. It comes with a 17mm Mohgasm driver preinstalled with silicone leads. Will that driver work with a 638 or 650?

Mohgasm's order page asks for Driver output. From 100ma - 1.8A Which should I select? Should I just pick 1.8A so everything lower will work?

Comments would be appreciated.

Diodes need constant current. The current you select will be the current the diode runs at.

For 660nm (aka 650nm) LPC-826 diode get 378mA.
For a mits 638nm 500mW get 1.1A

1.8A would fry those diodes.

Thanks for the driver link. Will have to study it, way over my head.

C6 JAD question, the driver supplied, will it work for red or blue diode?

Thanks

if you select an appropriate current for the diode you can run a red or blue. however, these are linear drivers, if you run a red (~2V) all the extra voltage will go to heat the driver.

Also, 405nm and 445nm diodes have a high forward voltage so you will need to use 2 cells.

Thanks

I don't have enough years left in my life to learn all this electronic stuff. Better stay with hair cutting and let DTR figure it out for me.

DTR helped me do a 2W 445nm Copper Blue Laser Module W/X-Drive & 405-G-2 in a Sky-Ray SR5.

Delivered in 1 day, 2 days later I fried it sticking the batteries in backward. He fixed it for free. I should install a Magic board from Cajun to prevent that from happening again.

Thanks DTR
