How to boost this 1mW pointer?

Now that's something that WOULD work - just get a variac and dial up the voltage until its at 100 watts. It'll be very efficient at that point too, but dount count on more than a few minutes of runtime.

That reminds me of when I'd accidentally bump those light bulbs "just enough", and they'd glow extra bright (100W was like a 150W). It sure shortened the lifetime of the bulb though.

I have an idea to boost it...gut it, and replace the laser module with something higher powered. Removing the resistor could kill the diode instantly, by giving it too much current.
