200mW blu-ray torch/adjustable/focusable [OL-405-200-T] - $105.99 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products

Does this 200mw blu-ray focusable have enough power to light a cigarette?
I havent found a good blu-ray burning vid to compare it to green and red.

Im not sure if i should get the 200mw o-like red laser (dilda?).
Can anyone answer me why is called a dilda?

Im just looking for a comparison in terms of burning power, im looking at the.

Could any of these even come close to lighting a cigarette? I know they can burn matches, electrical tape, etc.

Before you even think about buying one of these, and lighting a cigarette in your mouth you NEED safety glasses for whatever wavelength you're going to buy.

Heh, it's called a "dilda" due to the rather 'suggestive' shape of the "old style" version of this laser. Look at the picture, it needs no more explanation.

Anyways, as far as lighting cigarettes goes: 200mW of red or 200mW of blu-ray - both will do it, but due to absorption/reflective qualities of paper at certain wavelengths, it seems to me, at least, that 405nm is better at lighting paper.

They all could potentially light a cigarette, yes. Tobacco isn't too lightly colored, I think 405 would do a good job there.

Please do buy laser goggles. They have cool looking styles too.
Even if your not totally Blinded, Burning or Scaring your eyes for life isn't worth it.
Discounted Certified goggles in my sig \/.

Well the other nice thing about 405nm is you can get the yellow glasses, too, that don't darken ambient light all that much.

Yes i have multiple pairs of goggles, i have found out the hard way they are a must. Days of sun spots will teach you to use them.

So would you vote on the red dilda? It has a more visible beam so that's cool but if its just as capable at burning as the blu-ray, i might as well get it right? Its much cheaper.

The rayfoss would be badass but im looking for burning qualities, thats it. And would the blu-ray not be better than the dilda? I cant choose!! Its so much cheaper, i just dont want to get it and end up not being able to burn well.
