How do you make your own laser with a laser diode?

I AM THINK OF BUYING A 50mw laser diode module. Once i get it how do I make it work here is the link.

This is a good starting point to build a laser from scratch. By building the driver for a laserdiode and so on.

However for a green lasermodule not required as the module already has a driver, the diode, cristals and lenses already build in.

All he needs is the module, a host and a li-ion battery.
