How do I add a chuck to a bare DC motor shaft?

I salvaged an 18V DC motor from an old cordless circular saw, and I want to equip the shaft with some sort of chuck so that I can attach small buffing accessories.

My challenge is that I don't really know what the part I'm looking for is, and some of the obvious keywords aren't getting me anywhere.

Does anyone have any ideas?

That seems like I'm getting close. I'm looking to attach buffing accessories that have larger shafts than dremel shafts.

Ideally, I want a typical drill type chuck that, instead of having a shaft on the other end, has some type of female connector.

I believe I've seen keyless drill chucks with a female end as an attachment. Basically one of those muli-tool set things where the head is interchangeable.

You might be able to rip the chuck off a broken cordless drill and re-use that, wouldn't be too difficult to attach it to a motor shaft.

If you have opened it up take a picture of the shaft and then measure it down to the thousands and then I could make you an ARBOR ADAPTER to fit the shaft that can also fit a drill chuck.

You might be thinking of a Jacobs style chuck.
They go on a threaded shaft, so you will probably
need some kind of adapter, as per FP's suggestion.
